316L Stainless Steel with PVD Gold
Every M•RK piece is built on 316L stainless steel — the same grade used in surgical and marine applications for its exceptional resistance to corrosion and everyday wear. It won't rust, won't bend out of shape, and holds its structure over time. The base is nickel-free and hypoallergenic, making it a reliable choice for sensitive skin.
The finish is 18K PVD gold — a vacuum-bonded coating that fuses directly to the metal rather than sitting on top of it the way traditional plating does. The result is a finish that's harder, more uniform, and significantly more resistant to fading. It's designed to look the same on day 300 as it did on day one.
What to Expect Over Time
PVD gold is built to last, but it's still a finish. With consistent daily wear, you may eventually notice subtle softening at high-contact points — edges, clasps, areas that see the most friction. This isn't a flaw. It's the honest mark of something worn and loved.
To get the most out of your piece, keep it away from harsh chemicals, chlorine, and abrasive surfaces. Perfume and skincare products are best applied before you put your jewelry on, not after.
Caring for Your Piece
M•RK jewelry is low-maintenance by design. To clean, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear. If needed, a slightly damp cloth works fine — just dry it thoroughly afterward.
Store your piece in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If you're storing multiple pieces together, keep them separate to avoid surface scratching.
Your jewelry can handle daily life. Wash your hands, work up a sweat, get caught in the rain — it's made for that. Just avoid extended submersion and exposure to pools, hot tubs, or salt water, which can wear any finish over time.
